claiming counselling COSTS
Many clients are able to access funding for counselling through their extended medical plans, employee assistance programs, or other funding sources. Any costs incurred outside of available coverage may be claimed as a medical expense for tax purposes.

Direct Billing
Direct billing is available through Telus Health, Canada Life, Medavie Blue Cross, Pacific Blue Cross, Autism Funding Branch, SAJE, and the Children’s Variety Charity.
More direct billing options will likely become available in the future.
extended medical BENEFITS
Most extended medical plans provide coverage for treatment provided by a Registered Clinical Social Worker (RCSW) or a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC).

The following organizations may cover the cost of counselling at Central Island Counselling:
Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Autism Funding Branch, Children’s Variety Charity, and SAJE Program under (MCFD).
