trauma therapy & EMDR
approach
At Central Island Counselling, I consider it a profound honour to walk alongside clients who have experienced trauma. Creating a strong sense of safety and carefully reducing the intensity and discomfort often associated with trauma treatment are central to my approach. I work exclusively from evidence-based and best-practice frameworks. My primary modality for trauma treatment is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which I integrate with Internal Family Systems (IFS) to support a more compassionate, attuned, and flexible healing process. This integrative approach allows trauma processing to proceed at a pace that respects each client’s internal system and readiness. Please see below for more information.
